What We Offer
Compensation and benefits
- Compensation. Salaries are at the upper end of the Swedish market. We publish bands internally and bonuses are formula-driven, not discretionary.
- Pension. Above-statutory ITP1 with 8% employer contribution.
- Holiday. 32 days annual leave. Sabbatical of 3 months after every 7 years of tenure.
- Working hours. 38-hour week. We do not believe in heroic overtime; sustained effort over decades produces better software.
- Health. Private health insurance through Skandia, including dental and physiotherapy.
- Equipment. A budget of SEK 40,000 every two years for hardware, books, conferences, or anything that makes you better at your work.
- Profit sharing. All employees receive a share of operating profit, distributed annually after the audit closes.
- Quiet offices. Individual offices for senior engineers. Small shared rooms otherwise. No open-plan floors.
Our Hiring Process
Five steps, around six weeks
| # | Step | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Written application | A letter explaining why this firm and not another. We read every one. CVs alone are not sufficient. |
| 2 | First conversation | A 60-minute video call with a partner. We discuss your background, your reasons for applying, and answer your questions. |
| 3 | Take-home exercise | A small but representative engineering problem, designed to take a working day. We pay for your time at our standard consultancy rate. |
| 4 | On-site day | A full day at the Stockholm office. Three technical conversations, lunch with the team, and a short presentation of your take-home work. |
| 5 | Decision | A written offer or a written explanation of why we did not extend one, within five working days of the on-site visit. |
I joined in 1996 expecting to stay for two or three years. Twenty-eight years later I am still here. Emirates PD is the only firm I've worked at where the work itself, the people, and the way decisions are made have remained equally good for that long.
— Petter Wallin, Partner
If none of the open positions match your background but you would like to be considered when one does, please write to us. We keep all letters on file for two years.
